Why is marketing important?...

 

The exact role of marketing is incredibly cruicial for any buisness and Mandarin Oriental employ a very specific concept for their marketing campaign to reach their demographic. The role of marketing is that a business must find out the needs of its customers and create and produce products/services based on those needs.

 

It is important that all decisions made are based on the customer. A business that does this is considered to be marketing-orientated. The Marketing Concept is when a company produces goods/services based on what the customer wants. Products are produced accordingly to what they find their market need and want. This will give a higher amount of potential sales. 

 

This is the concept that is carried out by Manadarin on a huge scale through identifying the wants of maximum luxury, fine food and seamless accomodation. It is important that the neccesary market research is carried out prior to the company going ahead and selecting a concept that works for their cusomers and potential consumers.

 

Marketing is the primary channel of which a business' target market becomes aware of a new product or service, regardless of the medium of that marketing campaign. Mandarin Oriental may not  have been able to have the great deal of loyal customers that they have now without effective marketing. 

 

Marketing allows the process of the AIDA (attention, interest, desire, action) model to come alive. Without getting the attention from potential customers, there may never be action, let alone any interest or desire. 

 

When Mandarin Oriental open new hotels, they ensure that all forms of marketing cover that new property in full, in some form or another.
